As the saying goes, “If you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Since the beginning of my working life (and before) I have started each new day wondering what new adventure I might encounter. Some have been grand, some have been small, some have been disappointing and some have left memories I will cherish forever. Many of those memories I have been able to capture, first on a 35 mm camera, and now with high-end digital still and video cameras.
Following careers in radio and advertising, I started my own production company which has been honoured with some 14 international awards over the past dozen years. I am also the Publisher and Managing Editor of Northernstars.ca: The Canadian Movie Database. My work in both production and publishing allows me to use my writing and photography on almost a daily basis.
In 2012 one of my images was given an Honourable Mention in the Nature – Seasons category at the International Photography Awards (IPA). It was one of 18,000 submissions from 104 countries. In 2013, one of my photographs was selected by the prestigious Smith Gallery in Johnson City, Texas for an exhibition titled Chairs. That photo was one of two that were awarded Honourable Mention at the Moscow International Foto Awards in June 2016. In September of 2016, an image titled Paris Face was chosen as Best in Show for a curated “Colour Burst” exhibition by the Black Bar Gallery in Idaho.
