There is a saying, “If you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Since the beginning of my career in radio in the mid-1960s I have started each new day wondering what new adventure I might encounter. Some have been grand, some have been small, some have been disappointing and some have left memories I will cherish forever. Many of those memories I have been able to capture, first on film, and now with high-end digital cameras.
Following careers in radio and advertising, I started my own production company and continue to work writing and directing. From TV document aries to countless corporate, training and promotional videos; commercials for clients in both the public and private sectors, my company has picked up some 14 international awards over the past dozen years.
One of the documentary projects grew into the highly respected website about Canadian actors and movies, Northernstars.ca: The Canadian Movie Database where I am the Publisher and Managing Editor. My work in both production and publishing allows me to use my writing and photography on almost a daily basis.
In June of 2016 two of my photographs were awarded Honourable Mention at the Moscow International Foto Awards. In September 2016, an image titled Paris Face was chosen as Best in Show for a curated “Color Burst” exhibition by the Black Bar Gallery in Idaho.
